About Owner Jay Hitchcock

Jayís love of classic cars began the night he graduated from high school and his cousin rolled up in a 1957 Chevy Bel Air, the most beautiful thing he had ever seen.† Soon after, he scraped up some money and bought his first car, a 1955 Chevy 210.† Over the next 15 years he acquired and fixed up many cars, his favorites being a 1966 Chevelle road car and his current project, a 1971 Datsun racecar.

Though he knew that cars were his true love, he spent 10 plus years helping his father build his avionics business, Executive Autopilots, where he worked as an avionics technician.† After receiving several welding certifications he took his first job doing fabrication work at a local chassis shop that had a good reputation and was known for having high quality work. His next job was as head fabricator at SVS R&D in Sacramento where he worked alongside a talented team of guys.† He again returned to his fatherís shop to continue to help him grow and develop his business.† In late 2008 business was slow and so Jay began doing some classic car restoration work to pay the bills.† He started out working in the corner of his fatherís shop with just a couple customers but very quickly outgrew the space.† On January 2, 2009 he decided to go out on his own and started Jayís Hot Rods. His enthusiasm, drive, and love for doing this work has never been greater.

Jay invites you to stop by his shop and check out the facility and his work. He would love to help on your next build. Thank you for visiting the site.
